Tebogo Makamo –  Vice President, Business Development, Europe, Africa

Tebogo is a key member of the senior management team, who brings strong policy, gaming and technology experience.  He is responsible for developing markets in South Africa and Europe as well as managing BMM’s South African operation.  His experience is truly unique, as he was instrumental in creating the most comprehensive and effective standards in South African gaming, and he is widely respected in the industry throughout both Africa and Europe for his in-depth regulatory and industry knowledge and experience.

Tebogo has been the General Manager of BMM South Africa since 2005.  He has over twelve years of experience in the gaming industry in South Africa and internationally, both from the government and regulatory side as well as in private industry.  He started his career as a gaming machine technician with Sun International. Subsequently, he joined the Mpumalanga Gaming Board working his way up to Chief Inspector for the Lowveld Region.  Tebogo then joined the government-run SABS Gaming & Gambling Lab as a Lab Manager, and was subsequently recruited by the National Gambling Board as Senior Inspector where he remained until accepting the role of General Manager for BMM South Africa and now VP operations for Africa and Europe.
